I recently stayed at Mg Suites Hotel in Semarang for two nights with my family. The room setup felt more like a serviced apartment, which was fine for us, but the cleanliness definitely needs some work. The kids loved the two swimming pools, although I found the shallow areas weren't designed very well. Overall, while there are some issues, I would consider coming back for a family stay due to the decent service provided.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious with a nice layout, but I found it lacking a cupboard for clothes storage. Instead, I had to use the kitchen set for my stuff. Cleanliness was average, with some hair on the floor and ants on the table.
Service
7.0
The service was generally attentive, but I felt some staff could be friendlier. Check-in and check-out were quick, and I appreciated the offer for an early check-in.
Location
8.0
The hotel is well-located on Gajah Mada street, close to local food spots and attractions, although you do have to navigate a narrow alley to get there.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast had a good variety of options, but the dining area felt cramped with only 30 seats, which resulted in some waiting.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like a pool are nice, but the wifi was inconsistent and slow, making it tough to stay connected.

6.0/10

I stayed at MG Suites for a total of four nights, and while there were strong points, a few issues stood out. The room was spacious and comfortable, yet cleanliness was lacking. The breakfast was good with a variety of options, but the location was tricky to navigate.

Rooms
6.0
The suite was spacious and had comfortable furniture, but I noticed some cleanliness issues like dust and hair on the floor.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and attentive, providing express check-in and check-out, but I found the Wi-Fi to be slow and nearly useless.
Location
6.0
The hotel is conveniently located near Gajah Mada street, but the access is a bit awkward through narrow alleyways.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast had a great variety, though the restaurant can get crowded. Dinner options were plentiful and enjoyable.
Facilities
5.0
Amenities were acceptable and the room service was decent, but some facilities like the shower drainage needed improvement.

My stay at Mg Suites Hotel Semarang had its ups and downs. I was impressed by the spacious room layout, which included a kitchenette and a private balcony, but I was disappointed by the cramped dining area and some cleanliness issues. Overall, it's an affordable option in a convenient central location, though it could use some improvements in service and facilities.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious, featuring a separate living room, bedroom, and kitchenette, although it lacked basic utensils. The bathroom had a persistent odor which was quite off-putting.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were friendly and helpful, I found the overall service to be inconsistent and at times unfriendly.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location in the city center is convenient, as I could easily explore local street food and attractions, though accessing the hotel required navigating some narrow streets.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was often a waiting game due to the small restaurant space, which could only accommodate about 30 guests. The variety of food was limited.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were modest; there was a swimming pool that was not well-maintained due to ongoing construction, and the lobby felt cramped.

5.4/10

My stay at MG Suites Hotel Semarang was enjoyable overall, but there were some challenges. The spacious suite was a highlight, offering ample room for my family. However, the lingering smell in the bathroom and lukewarm water left me wanting more. The location is fantastic, but the access could be a little confusing for newcomers.

Rooms
7.0
The suite was very spacious and well-appointed, featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Sadly, the kitchenette lacked essential utensils and appliances, which was a letdown for meal prep.
Service
6.0
The staff were polite and accommodating, though sometimes it felt like they had to seek management approval for simple requests. It would be great if they had more autonomy.
Location
7.0
The hotel is conveniently located near Simpang Lima and Gajah Mada street, making it easy to explore nearby food spots. Just be prepared to navigate a bit of an alley to get there.
Dining
6.0
I found the dining options to be decent, with a good variety at breakfast. However, I would have preferred more choices in their small restaurant.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities like room service and housekeeping were adequate, though I did not utilize most. The pool area was nice, but it would have been better if the hotel had no ongoing construction nearby.

My stay at Mg Suites Hotel Semarang was quite pleasant overall. The 3-bedroom suite was incredibly spacious and well-priced at just around USD 70 per night, making it a fantastic value. However, I was disappointed with the breakfast, which had very limited options and often left guests waiting for a table.

Rooms
8.0
The 3-bedroom suite was spacious, clean, and had a cozy feel, complete with a living area, kitchen, and balcony. However, the kitchenette was lacking basic utensils, which was inconvenient.
Service
6.0
The staff provided decent service, but the restaurant's small capacity meant waiting for breakfast was a hassle. Plus, the atmosphere felt a bit unfriendly at times.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was perfect, just a short drive to the city center and surrounded by local eateries, which made exploring easy.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was underwhelming, with very few choices and limited seating. It would be better if they could expand the menu and the space available for guests.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had two swimming pools, which my kids loved, but the Wi-Fi signal could definitely use improvement. The layout of the pools could also be safer for younger children.
